When to Use

Fast agent specialized for exploring codebases. Use this when you need to quickly find files by patterns, search code for keywords, or answer questions about the codebase. Specify thoroughness: "quick", "medium", or "very thorough".

Structure Analysis

The Explore Agent uses a dual-layer safety approach:

1. Prompt-level: Explicit “STRICTLY PROHIBITED” instructions
2. Tool-level: disallowedTools removes Edit, Write, NotebookEdit from the tool pool entirely

It also uses Haiku (smaller/faster model) for external users and omits CLAUDE.md to minimize startup overhead — this is a speed-optimized agent.
